Data Warehouse Specialist
Role description
Responsible for the design, modeling, conceptualization, and implementation of data warehouses. Provides support through analysis and logic design to deliver information and reports to data warehouse users. Responsible for maintaining and supporting daily updates of business data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifies and analyzes business needs, documents business cases, designs, implements, and maintains solutions at the database, cube, data warehouse, and reporting levels.
- Creates artifacts to scale according to organizational growth and best practices.
- Analyzes, studies, and evaluates existing data views and reports within the company.
- Recommend changes, updates, or implement reporting tools to achieve the company's strategic goals.
- Develops and documents all solutions from analysis to implementation, including changes or improvements to programs, business processes, and modifications to the data warehouse.
- Implement business rules through stored procedures and monitor their performance to proactively detect efficiency improvements.
- Maintains the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Takes ownership of proposed solutions, ensuring that the results align with business or operational needs and expectations. Has a thorough understanding of transactional database schemas and their functions.
- Develops and documents metadata and models related to report repositories.
- Tests created, modified, and/or updated models, ensuring data accuracy and deliverable quality according to best practices and organizational standards.
- Generate reports and other documentation as required.
- Comply with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for both the department and the company.
- Participates in other strategic projects as required and/or performs related technical tasks as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience in IT.
- Four (4) years of experience in modeling for operational systems (OLTP and data warehousing).
- Four (4) years of experience and knowledge in Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
- Knowledge of data structure, source and target data, schema development, relational and hierarchical databases, and the star schema model.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of computer systems, including Excel, Analysis Services, Business Objects, Web Intelligence, Data Services, and ETL tools.
- Experience in various data-related concepts, such as evaluating modeling tools and data warehousing.
- Ability to handle high workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
Licenses and/or certifications are not required for the duties outlined. However, additional licenses or certifications related to the position may be required for optimal job performance.
Language:
Fluency in Spanish and English, both oral and written.
