Data Remediation Analyst

Role description

The Data Remediation Analyst will be responsible for driving the data remediation efforts and identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in data. The ideal person has a strong background in data management, who is passionate about making a positive impact in the financial industry. Monitor and track progress of data remediation efforts, and provide regular updates to management while conducting risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure data integrity. Translate business problems into requirements, process changes, test cases, data mapping, etc., and serve as liaison between numerous cross-functional teams both technical and business units. 

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data remediation plan to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address gaps or data quality issues while monitoring and tracking progress of data remediation efforts, and provide regular updates to management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure data integrity and identify areas for process improvement and recommend efficient procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of data remediation efforts
  • Identify and resolve any issues or roadblocks that may hinder the success of remediation activities
  • Proactively communicate with clients and stakeholders to address any mitigation concerns or questions in addition to conducting analysis of business processes and functional requirements and document, communicate and validate findings pertaining to any potential data discrepancies.
  • Identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources, and system specifications while participating in identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in data.
  • Understand the business requirement while serving as technical liaison between teams regarding new system implementations, development, integration, and changes while collaborating with management to design technical solution.


Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 4+ years’ experience with Data Analytics and Data Governance concepts
  • Experience with Identifying/documenting/mitigating data defect root cause Ability to translate business problems into requirements, process changes, test cases, data mapping, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data transformation, functions/expressions, VBA Macros
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL or other coding language a plus 


Plus:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (written, verbal) is a plus
  • Previous experience with MS Project a plus
  • Prior experience with Data Remediation/Stewardship is highly preferred
  • Previous experience in banking/financial sectors is a plus
