Scrum Master

Role description

The Scrum Master will be responsible for leading the end to end execution and delivery of digital channel solutions and serve as key escalation point for risks and issues within the end-to-end project management life cycle. The ideal person would be able to “own” their projects and lead project definition and scope with applicable stakeholders. This person should be an effective influencer, collaborator, right hand to the Director and experienced in building relationships and trust across diverse teams/locations. We are searching for someone who possesses in-depth knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Agile/Scrum), Project Management Office governance procedures.


Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with Product Manager and Technical Lead to design and deliver the vision and customer experience for the Digital customers of a major banking institution. 
  • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests in addition to collaborating with cross functional teams to resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur.
  • Own the delivery of Security related features and capabilities for the Online and Mobile channels and understand, influence and enable business strategy by deploying digital solutions.
  • Serve as single point of contact for their Digital workstream, with specific focus on Mobile and Online capabilities across Sales and Service.
  • Partner with business leadership team, local Technology teams, corporate development teams and vendors (for product integrations) to drive delivery and navigate risks and issues.
  • Prepare and implement project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects (i.e., resources, scope, schedule, cost, assumptions and dependencies).
  • Manage work streams, prepares status reports and interfaces with stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution are aligned with defined objectives while coordinating activities of project personnel with relevant stakeholders to ensure progress within time and budget constraints.
  • Lead the internal & external resources required to deliver the program, and is responsible for adhering to the program governance (e.g. sponsors, approvers, stakeholders).
  • Run status meetings/daily stand ups/working sessions related to the Project, tracks actions and follow up items in addition to leveraging project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
  • Enhance program and project management capabilities and operational oversight. Develops, edits and executes project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects.
  • Interface with and present to executive level stakeholders e.g. Board Members, Management Committee, etc.


Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (written, verbal)
  • 6-7+ years' experience managing digital product life cycles within banking environments is a must
  • Proven success managing multi-year projects with cross-enterprise interdependencies
  • Proven experience prioritizing, budgeting, estimating, project implementation
  • Must have strong understanding of Agile methodology, Project Management Office governance procedures within digital project environments (Mobile and Online capabilities)

  • Experience with security management frameworks such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) frameworks.
  • Familiarity with legal provisions and regulatory requirements, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Rule 76.


Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Security+, CISA, CISM, SSCP, or GSEC certifications are an advantage. However, licenses or certifications related to the position may be required for optimal job performance.
